We’ve had an exciting start to our topic this term ‘The Greeks’. The children have been busy identifying where Greece is on a map, locating its capital city and finding out about the climate of Greece. We then looked at both the physical and human features of Greece.
In History we’ve learnt that the history of ancient Greek can be split up into three parts: Classical era, Archaic era and the Hellenistic era. We looked at different parts of history from Greece then places these onto our class timeline.
Hawkstone made their Greek vase pattern by using the image drawn on their polystyrene tile. Using a roller, tray and black printing ink, they created a large print by repeatedly placing the block on to a sheet of card. Children repeated the pattern edge to edge positioning the tile to create a band of the pattern.
